Description

A thick sagittal section through the pineal gland and neighbouring parts of a monkey’s brain. Notice the masses of pigment in the pineal gland.   Above it is the suprapineal recess (A) of the tela choroidea (containing an extension of the choroid plexus). Behind is the great cerebral vein (B). Below is the superior corpus Quadrigeminum (C) and, at its anterior margin, the posterior commissure (D).
