Low-power view of a section through the thoracic region of the spinal cord of a monkey, stained by the Weigert-Pal method. By this method the white matter is stained black while the grey matter is left unstained. Notice the following features in the section. 1. Postero-median sulcus. 2. Postero-lateral sulcus. 3. Posterior white column. 4. Lateral white column. 5. Anterior white column. 6. Anterior median fissure. 7. Posterior horn of grey matter. 8. Lateral horn. 9. Anterior horn. 10. Grey commissure. 11. Posterior rootlets. 12. Anterior rootlets.
