Description

Section of the visual cortex of a monkey’s brain, stained with protargol. It shows the discrete fasciculi of radial fibres which run vertically in the cortex. Most of these are composed of axons of pyramidal cells and the terminal parts of association fibres originating in surrounding areas of the cortex. The photograph is at a magnification of X 350.
